I am interested in applying physical AI to real-world problems.
If you have a repetitive process which you want automated but have not yet, please get in touch.
I am participating in the Summer Robotics Challenge organized by Robotics Nation, where we have a XLeRobot for three months and have to develop something useful with it.
Our team works on a robot that serves food in an elderly care home, where each resident has particular preferences and food restrictions.
My part is on building the system design, and on training VLA policies for serving meals.
In the spring of 2026 I taught a hands-on course on learning-based methods for robotic manipulation in the Department of Computer Science at Aalto University. I had the idea of the course, developed it from scratch, created all the learning materials, and taught the lectures and led practical exercises.
The course description and materials.
Student projects from my robotics course. Video credits belong to the students.
In June 2026 I organized a workshop on Physical AI together with Aalto Robotics Club. For two hours, the participants collected their own data with SO-101 robotic arms, and then we trained a VLA model with the common data. While we waited for the model to train, I talked about how VLAs work. At the end of the workshop, we demonstrated the trained model working on the robots.
